Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing process, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring timely deliveries.

This role involves developing and sourcing high-quality products at optimal prices, maximizing current sourcing channels, and working closely with designers, merchandising teams, and suppliers to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • To contribute to the development of the divisional Buying and Merchandising strategy and work within this strategy at all times.
  • To be responsible for all issues related to buying merchandise and coordinating with vendors for the designated departments, focusing on finding the best resources at the best prices to ensure that product is higher in quality & cost-effective for their respective brands.
  • To work with merchandising teams to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders.
  • To identify possible future product offerings by conducting thorough research about what customers are looking for next and the technological trends that are coming up.
  • To plan pricing strategies on various product lines with the marketing department and management and aim to reach an agreement with suppliers that allow for optimal pricing.
  • To develop and source the right product at the right time to meet customer requirements.
  • To maximize current sourcing channels and identify new opportunities.
  • To support negotiations and work with the supply base to ensure that best costs and margins are achieved.
  • To work closely with designers on developing styles; design research trips, fabric & print advice, and informing best sellers for move-on styles.
  • To work closely with merchandising teams; management of stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns.
  • To keep track of competitors' activities through market research activities to track understand trends, forecasting, in terms of color, fabric etc.
  • To manage product presentation, packaging, and product development and develop promotional plans.
  • To review and adjust the season plans and weekly plans.
  • To work with marketing and design to develop visual merchandising promotions in line with theme and product launches.
  • To ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors.
  • To set standards for the quality of merchandise with QA.
  • To reconcile to store plans and fix departmental financial plans.
  • To support negotiations and work with the supply base to ensure that best costs and margins are achieved.
  • To work closely with merchandising teams; management of stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns.
  • To conduct the annual review of supplier performance with QA.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in purchasing or procurement preferred.
