Medical Device Service Technician Role

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Service Technician to manage the medical device turnaround process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform disinfection, cleaning and basic electronics checks on medical devices.
  • Inspect devices for functional issues after patient usage.
  • Replace components and consumable parts as needed.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks and maintain calibration logs.

Troubleshooting & Basic Repairs:

  • Diagnose control unit electronics issues and perform minor repairs.
  • Coordinate with R&D team for advanced repairs or escalations.
  • Update software/firmware as required.

Device Deployment Support:

  • Responsible for device pickups and installations at hospitals/home-care centers.
  • Deploy new/rental devices as per requirement.
  • Provide basic usage training to nursing staff/caregivers.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain service logs, device usage hours, complaints and interventions.
  • Prepare monthly reports for operations and product team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering or related fields.
  • 1–3 years of experience in servicing medical equipment.
  • Hands-on skills in basic electronics troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Required Skills:

  • Technical aptitude in electronic devices & medical equipment.
  • Good communication skills for hospital coordination.
  • Ability to maintain accurate service documentation.
