Senior Planning Engineer Role Summary:
Prominent within the Production Planning department, the Senior Planning Engineer plays a pivotal role in material expedition and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. This position emphasizes a specific focus on the materials and goods required in the production phase, guaranteeing the working space is properly maintained for optimal performance.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  1. Support sales, Project management, and after-market activities by providing technical and costing information.
  2. Create production schedules and prioritize job-orders for production optimization and on-time shipment.
  3. Collaborate with teams to expedite the flow of materials and documents to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
  4. Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer demand.
  5. Produce status reports for production progress, work-in-process, and raw material inventory.
  6. Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Quality Control, Warehouse, and other staff.
  7. Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information requested from Manufacturing, Projects, and QA.
  8. Analyze data and make decisions to support raw material supply and finished goods demand.
  9. Verify and confirm the Production plan at the beginning of every month.
  10. Demonstrate adequate knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
  11. Possess experience in ERP systems, preferably Oracle, and Microsoft Office products with strong computer skills.

Qualification:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Relevant experience (8 to 10 years) within the related industry, including knowledge of industry practices and standards.
  3. Proven experience working as a Senior Production Planner in an engineered industry, preferably a large pump company.
  4. Excellent ability to read Engineering drawings, documents, and reports.
  5. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Solid knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and related software.
  7. Proficiency in advanced Excel and Power BI dashboard reports.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  10. Effective communication skills.
  11. High-level presentation and reporting skills.
  12. Commercial sense and Market intimacy.
  13. Flexible, self-motivated individual with a positive and proactive approach and strong customer service ethic.
  14. Detail-oriented and data-focused.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  1. Identify bottlenecks and ensure proper utilization of all resources to achieve operational targets.
  2. Conduct daily meetings to keep track of planning and production schedules.
  3. Assist in new product development and enhancements.
  4. Responsible for addressing warranty and site complaints.
  5. Develop and achieve departmental and company goals and controls. Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity.
  6. Able to initiate corrective and preventive action and RCA.
  7. Collaborate with peer groups to identify and consistently implement best practices.
  8. Define performance expectations and communicate to team members clearly, articulate the criteria for success.
  9. Ensure effective inventory management with acceptable values, turns, and availability to meet operation objectives.
  10. Encourage continuous improvement in all processes and services.
  11. Strive for department KPIs where applicable.
