Hotel Receptionist Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting Guests: Create a positive first impression by welcoming guests and verifying their booking details.
  • Managing Reservations: Take bookings via phone, email, or in person and record them in the hotel's system.
  • Assigning Rooms: Allocate rooms to guests and provide them with keys.
  • Answering Questions: Provide information about the hotel, local attractions, and transportation.
  • Handling Special Requests: Deal with requests for room service, wake-up calls, or taxi bookings.
  • Managing Payments: Prepare bills, take payments, and process cash.
  • Checking Out Guests: Take payments, return deposits, and check guests out.
  • Maintaining the Front Desk: Keep the front desk area clean and organized.
  • Using Hotel Software: Utilize hotel management software to check in and out guests and manage guest information.
  • Coordinating with Other Departments: Work with other hotel departments to meet guest needs.

Requirements:

  • Polite and Calm Manner: Provide excellent customer service and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Well-Organized: Ensure the front desk area is tidy and organized.
  • Good Writing and IT Skills: Possess strong writing and IT skills to effectively use hotel software and communicate with guests.
  • Adaptable and Problem-Solving: Be able to adapt to changing situations and solve problems efficiently.
