IT Systems Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled IT systems engineer to join our team. As an IT systems engineer, you will be responsible for installing, upgrading and troubleshooting server hardware and software. This includes ESXi/AHV servers, Cisco UCS, Dell MX 7000, and other network devices. You will also be responsible for managing user/admin access, monitoring system performance issues, and maintaining server architecture security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and upgrade ESXi/AHV servers with technical expertise
  • Troubleshoot ESXi/AHV servers using Command Line Interface (CLI)
  • Manage and troubleshoot VMware, VMware Consolidated Backup, Update Manager, and LCM
  • Capable of patch management and troubleshooting for VMware ESXi/Nutanix AHV
  • Manage and troubleshoot Cisco UCS, Dell MX 7000, and other network devices
  • Have good knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) activities and replication concepts
  • Work closely with various skill levels to meet project and productivity requirements
  • Provide technical support knowledge for Window/VMware/Azure
  • Troubleshoot system and connectivity server errors
  • Review system error logs and user-reported errors
  • Manage user/admin access and monitor system performance issues
  • Maintain server architecture security and create system backups
  • Have experience with DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of business continuity mechanisms and SLA management
  • Quick learner with problem-solving skills required
  • Firmware upgradation experience/knowledge of UCSM/UCS-X/DELLMX 7000/HP physical server build activity/LAN management/upgrades, service profile creation, etc.
  • Knowledge of AWS/Azure infrastructure management
  • Knowledge of cloud-based backup/Druva mechanism
  • Experience with Service Now (SNOW) Tool
  • Windows infrastructure requires configuration maintenance optimization and documentation
  • Handling P1 issues and coordinating with OEM/Vendor
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and ITIL
