Infrastructure System Designer Position

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a key member of the engineering team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale infrastructure systems.

About the Role

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead technical discussions with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members through pairing sessions.
  • Be adaptable in different roles and technologies as project needs evolve.
  • Bring a proactive mindset with excellent client communication, collaboration, and writing skills.
  • Utilize methodologies like Agile and Lean to manage projects and deliverables.
  • Create RFCs, take inputs, and document knowledge for team reference.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure systems.
  • Reliability engineering experience is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • A good understanding of software delivery principles.
  • Technical agility: ability to adapt to different roles and technologies when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of Linux, software-defined networking.
  • Experience in configuration management and tools like Ansible and Chef.
  • Good understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts.
  • Experience with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.
  • Familiarity with Cloud-Native ecosystem and tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Envoy.
  • In-depth understanding of containers & container orchestrators like Nomad, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Deeply understand managing and organizing infrastructure as code and have worked with tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
  • Familiarity with at least one primary cloud provider, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of Observability well and can collaborate with dev teams to improve their observability systems.
  • Good understanding of the principles of distributed systems.
  • Understanding how SQL and NoSQL databases work and what is needed to manage them.
  • Familiarity with basic cloud security.
