Senior Frontend Engineer – Retail Technology Job Description

This highly technical role involves product development accountability within the Retail Technology Engineering team. The fast-paced environment requires adopting leading-edge technology and continuously improving solutions. Our team values collaboration, trying new approaches, and learning from mistakes.

  • Proven experience as a lead with responsibility for project requirements understanding.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure successful implementation of business solutions.
  • Develop reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including low-level design, flow diagrams, and pseudocode.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Establish and enforce standards for application development, conduct code reviews, and oversee CICD activities.
  • Mentor junior developers in ReactJS and related technologies.
Requirements

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including knowledge of standard data structures and algorithms.
  • Expert-level proficiency in the ReactJS ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience in web application development for large enterprises.
  • Ability to design and architect enterprise JavaScript applications using React.Js and Next.Js.
  • Familiarity with popular ReactJS workflows, such as Redux.
  • Understanding of web markup (HTML5 and CSS3), JSX, and templating technologies.
  • Experience writing unit tests using JavaScript testing frameworks.
  • Proficient understanding of build tools and code version control tools like Git.
  • Good understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
  • Ability to review specifications documents and provide technical inputs.
  • Good understanding of browser development tools and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with Sonar and Code Quality Metrics.
  • Self-motivation, excellent communication and presentation skills, and outstanding interpersonal skills.

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $180,000 and $220,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
