Graphics Validation Engineer

 

The role of a graphics validation engineer is to play a crucial part in the development and improvement of graphics driver software. This involves being hands-on in creating validation plans, test cases, and use cases that ensure comprehensive coverage of all features enabled on the graphics driver software stack.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of upcoming AMD platforms, SOCs, IPs, tools, and programming libraries to create relevant and cohesive solutions.
  • Engage with multi-disciplinary stakeholders for requirement gathering and issue resolving.
  • Interact closely with key stakeholders to ensure customer and user experience is given the highest priority.
  • Derive test cases and use cases from requirements ensuring 100% functional feature and non-functional (stress, soak scenarios) coverage.

 

Requirements:

  • Linux graphics driver validation expertise across multimedia, graphics APIs, power management, IO, and Ethernet.
  • Strong individual contributor coupled with a capability to lead validation teams.
  • Experience with debugging and triage of use cases in close collaboration with development teams.
  • Power user of Ubuntu, custom Linux.
  • Experienced with creating modular and maintainable test and use cases adhering to best practices.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of commercial software test experience required.
  • Proven track record of developing and architecting validation plans and test cases in a x86 environment.
  • Experience with source control systems like GitHub, Perforce, and SVN.

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor or masters degree in electrical/computer engineering, mathematics, computer science, or an equivalent preferred.
