Job Summary:

We are seeking a driven Business Development Lead to spearhead growth in our Parametric Insurance vertical. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building sales from scratch, strong industry connections, and in-depth knowledge of parametric risk solutions.

The successful candidate will lead strategic initiatives, build new markets, and drive sustainable revenue, particularly in climate-sensitive and underserved segments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the Parametric Insurance vertical.
  • Create and manage the entire sales function, from prospecting to closure.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities, customer segments, and revenue streams.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with insurers, reinsurers, agri-input companies, NBFCs, cooperatives, and government agencies.
  • Generate, qualify, and nurture leads while tailoring sales strategies to parametric product models.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, actuarial, tech, and operations teams to deliver custom parametric insurance solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Agriculture, Climate Science, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in business development, preferably in parametric or climate-risk insurance, reinsurance, or rural financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up and scaling a sales function from scratch.
  • In-depth understanding of parametric insurance products, climate data, and risk triggers.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong execution skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
