PetYosa is developing a pioneering AI-powered pet super app and smart collar ecosystem. This innovative platform integrates pet health, veterinary services, grooming, boarding, e-commerce, and community into a seamless experience.

We are seeking a Backend Engineer who excels in building robust, production-grade systems. This role suits someone who enjoys architecting APIs, thinking end-to-end about reliability and scalability, and delivering features that real users appreciate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices that drive PetYosa's core flows (vet bookings, pet accommodations, orders, payments, telemetry ingestion).
  • Create data models and database schemas optimized for performance and operational simplicity.
  • Implement robust authentication, authorization, payment integrations, audit trails, and secure data handling for medical/health data.
  • Design and operate data ingestion pipelines for FitYosa devices (telemetry, location, analytics) ensuring durability and near-real-time processing.
  • Implement caching, queueing, and backpressure strategies to maintain system performance under load.
  • Develop observability and create runbooks for common operational scenarios.
  • Write production-quality tests, CI/CD pipelines, and support release management and incident response.
  • Collaborate closely with product, mobile, AI, and hardware teams to translate product requirements into reliable backend systems.
Required Skills:
  • 2-4 years of experience building production backend systems with Node.js and frameworks like Express/Nest.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB: schema design, indexing, query optimization.
  • Practical knowledge of caching and message queues.
  • Cloud experience: deploying services, setting up infrastructure, and managing costs.
  • Familiarity with Docker and basic orchestration concepts.
  • Practical understanding of security best practices: tokens, encryption in transit/at rest, OWASP risks.
  • Track record of owning features end-to-end and shipping in a fast, iterative environment.
  • Clear communicator who can work in an in-office, collaborative team.
