DB2 Systems Programmer Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled DB2 systems programmer to join our team. We are looking for someone with expertise in DB2, z/OS, JCL, and performance tuning.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of DB2 subsystems. They will also manage database security, access, and encryption, plan and execute backup, recovery, and DR procedures, troubleshoot DB2 system issues, collaborate with developers for performance optimization, apply patches, fixes, and upgrades, monitor system health and DB2 resource usage, ensure compliance with security and industry standards, and document configurations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain DB2 for z/OS databases.
  • Tune DB2 subsystems for high performance.
  • Manage database security, access, and encryption.
  • Plan and execute backup, recovery, and DR procedures.
  • Troubleshoot DB2 system issues.
  • Collaborate with developers for performance optimization.
  • Apply patches, fixes, and upgrades.
  • Monitor system health and DB2 resource usage.
  • Ensure compliance with security and industry standards.
  • Document configurations and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in DB2 systems programming.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, DB2 utilities, and tuning.
  • Familiarity with JCL, REXX, CLIST scripting.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and documentation capabilities.
