Job Title: Coolgen Developer

At the heart of our organization, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Coolgen Developer. This pivotal role requires someone with expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining applications using IBM's Coolgen (also known as IEF - Integrated Engineering Facility) for automated code generation and enterprise application development.

The ideal candidate will work on creating efficient business applications, primarily for mainframe or distributed environments, by leveraging Coolgen's model-driven approach. This position demands a deep understanding of software development methodologies, coupled with excellent analytical skills and effective communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, customize, and maintain enterprise applications using Coolgen to drive business growth.
  • Translate business requirements into technical design utilizing Coolgen tools, fostering innovative solutions.
  • Generate and optimize COBOL, DB2, or other code through Coolgen models, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver applications efficiently, while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
  • Participate in upgrades and migration activities related to Coolgen environments, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Document design changes and technical processes, contributing to organizational knowledge sharing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience working with Coolgen (IBM IEF) for application development is essential.
  • Knowledge of COBOL, DB2, or relational databases is beneficial.
  • Understanding of mainframe and distributed systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile or other software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with other IBM development tools or enterprise software platforms.
