Product Design Director Job Description

Job Summary:

The Product Design Director is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the design team and driving design strategy across products. This individual will be instrumental in shaping the future of our company by designing intuitive and powerful solutions that empower both internal teams and external users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Strategy: Define and drive the holistic design vision for our products, ensuring a consistent, high-quality user experience across internal and external applications.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in product management, engineering, and data science to align on product strategy, goals, and roadmaps.
  • Design Systems: Maintain and establish a centralized design system with standards, patterns, and best practices for designing with AI, including data visualization, trust, and transparency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent.
  • 12+ years of experience in product design within a technology or product-centric company.
  • Proven experience leading a team of designers who design and ship AI-powered products or features.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a track record of using data to inform design decisions.
