Kafka Systems Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Systems Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our Kafka infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cluster Management: Ensure high availability and fault tolerance in our production-grade Kafka clusters by deploying and upgrading them efficiently.
  • Automation: Automate the installation and configuration of Kafka clusters using tools like Ansible and Chef, streamlining our deployment process.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot critical production issues and optimize Kafka performance to minimize downtime, ensuring business continuity.
  • Data Replication: Configure MirrorMaker for effective data replication between two data centers, guaranteeing disaster recovery.
  • Monitoring: Deploy and manage Provectus Kafka UI on a Kubernetes cluster for real-time monitoring and management, providing actionable insights.
  • Integration: Integrate Schema Registry and deploy multiple Kafka Connectors to facilitate seamless data flow, enhancing our data processing capabilities.
  • User Onboarding: Manage ACL permissions, create topics, and implement end-to-end security with SSL/TLS to onboard new users efficiently.
  • Infrastructure Design: Design and manage Kafka infrastructure to enhance message processing efficiency, optimizing our data pipeline.
  • Performance Optimization: Conduct performance testing to optimize partitioning, replication, and retention policies, ensuring optimal Kafka performance.
  • Integration with ELK Stack and Solr: Integrate Kafka with ELK Stack and Solr for scalable data storage and analysis, supporting business intelligence initiatives.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Proficiency in Kafka, MirrorMaker, Kafka Streams, Schema Registry, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Monitoring & Logging, Programming & Scripting, and Shell Scripting is necessary. 3+ years of experience in Kafka administration and development are mandatory.
