Senior Accounting Specialist Job Summary

The role of the Senior US Accounting Specialist is critical in supporting our finance function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position requires a strong accounting professional to review and process weekly timesheets & client invoices, ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll/accounting data, prepare regular & ad-hoc reports in QuickBooks, manage and reconcile AP/AR accounts, assist with GL entries, reconciliations, and month-end close, support financial statement prep in line with U.S. GAAP, track/manage PO expirations & related documentation, and maintain master data for employees, customers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and process weekly timesheets and client invoices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll/accounting data.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports in QuickBooks.
  • Manage and reconcile AP/AR accounts.
  • Assist with general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Support financial statement preparation in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Track and manage purchase order expirations and related documentation.
  • Maintain master data for employees, customers, and vendors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. accounting/bookkeeping, preferably in a staffing or consulting environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and expense management.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.
