Job Opportunity: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Systems Integration Expert Wanted

We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of precision electromechanical systems. The successful candidate will own the mechanical architecture of a cutting-edge instrument, ensuring it is fast, stable, and serviceable.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering complex electromechanical systems, with a strong background in vacuum practice, precision motion, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and design for manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop Mechanical Architecture: Lead the design and development of compact vacuum chambers, precise motion stages, serviceable enclosures, and safety interlocks.
  • Qualify and Scale Suppliers: Partner with global suppliers to improve yield and finish quality.
  • Integrate System-Level Components: Balance optics, electronics, thermal, acoustic, and safety needs to create a reliable and efficient system.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Electromechanical Systems: Deliver precision electromechanical systems for scientific instruments, automation, or similar fields.
  • Vacuum Practice and Precision Motion: Comfortable with vacuum practice, precision motion, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, design for manufacturability.
  • Hands-on Problem-Solving: Experienced in hands-on problem-solving with an eye for ergonomics and field-service.
