Job Title: Software Development Engineer, Digital Payments and Emerging MarketsAbout the Role

The Amazon Digital and Emerging Payments Team's vision is to provide our customers with a seamless payment experience worldwide.

We are looking for a talented software developer who can deliver first-class quality products to our customers by working on different technologies such as Android, Amazon Fire, and back-end platform systems.

This involves building highly customized and user-friendly payment experiences for our global customers.

The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that our customers' orders are never lost and always processed even when downstream services are down.

  • Help drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a world-class experience for our developers.
  • Utilize various metrics sources to deliver rapid iterations of software features.
  • Solve difficult problems with elegant and practical code.
  • Raise the bar on quality, consistency, maintainability, efficiency, security, and all the other things that make great software.
  • Be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying medium to large-sized projects.
  • Help define engineering best practices.
  • Be a champion for the customer: Insist on the highest standards, create functional and engaging features, and ensure their needs always come first.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy software applications to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software code in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to meet business needs.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and training materials for team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
