Job Title: Kafka Service Mesh Engineer

Experience: 5-8 years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled engineer to work on a leading banking client's project. The role involves upgrading Service Mesh, migrating Kafka clusters, and managing deployments on OpenShift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upgrade Service Mesh from version 2.0 to 3.0 on production clusters.
  • Migrate Kafka from Mirror Maker & Zookeeper to KRaft architecture.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Kafka and Service Mesh on OpenShift environments.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Kafka, Service Mesh, and microservices hosted on OpenShift.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams for production rollouts.
  • Perform troubleshooting, optimization, and security hardening in a restricted environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5–8 years of overall IT experience with proven expertise in:
  • Kafka (upgrades, migration).
  • Service Mesh (hands-on upgrade experience with Istio/Red Hat Service Mesh 3.0 is mandatory).
  • Strong, hands-on experience with OpenShift.
  • Solid understanding of microservices communication patterns and hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures.
  • Prior experience in banking or secure environment projects preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite with limited external internet access.
