About this role

This position involves designing accessible and interactive data visualizations using React, Raphael JS, and SVG, aligned with WCAG & ARIA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop clean, semantic, and accessible code across HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Cultivate accessibility through automated tools like Axe, Wave, Lighthouse, and manual testing.
  • Collaborate with design and UX teams to create visually engaging and fully usable tools.
  • Document accessibility practices and maintain consistent guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging accessibility standards and visualization best practices.

Requirements

We're looking for candidates with 3+ years of front-end development experience, preferably with visualization tools. Essential skills include:

  • Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
  • Proficiency in Raphael JS and SVG for building data visualizations.
  • A solid understanding of WCAG and ARIA standards.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with user research or usability testing for data visualization.
  • Familiarity with additional data visualization frameworks/libraries.
  • Contributions to open-source accessibility efforts or active involvement in related communities.
