Design Lead – Solar

Job Overview:

Our organization seeks a seasoned Design Lead with extensive experience in civil and structural engineering to spearhead our solar power plant design team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of reviewing and executing engineering activities for solar PV power plants, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards.

The successful Design Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development of BIM 3D models for PV solar power plants, facilitating inter-departmental checks, and coordinating with operations teams to obtain design specifications approvals.

  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents.
  • Review and approve drawings from design engineers and draughts persons, verifying design and sizing calculations for engineering electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure seamless inter-departmental checks.

Technical Expertise:

The Design Lead should have expertise in technical areas such as civil and structural engineering, covering control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads, drainage, outdoor steel structures, and miscellaneous works related to solar power plants. They should be able to review vendor engineering documents regarding civil and structural design.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Estimate and plan man-hour requirements.
  2. Review bill of quantities (BOQ) and submit to contracts team, providing technical clarifications.
  3. Collect inputs for project details, such as soil reports, boundary coordinates, and topographical surveys, from clients and section heads.
  4. Provide support and clarifications to site execution teams.
