Senior Software Engineer Role Description

Engineering involves applying Computer Science principles to design, build, maintain, scalable and sustainable technology Products and Solutions.

These technology Products and Solutions provide amazing guest experiences while meeting the needs of the business.

The following are the principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and test new systems from the ground up with minimal support.
  • Collaborate with local team and partner teams.
  • Conform to quality standards.
  • Identify performance issues and optimize solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of security coding practices and/or secure system fundamentals (e.g., cross-site scripting, security certificates).
  • Lead end-to-end engineering for projects and problems of complex scope and impact within practice.
  • Ensure strong software delivery fundamentals including automated testing, source control, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • Produce robust application design and produce patterns to ensure applications are resilient and scalable.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Requirements

The following qualifications, skills, experience and personal requirements are necessary:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years professional experience in the practice area including:
  • Java/spring boot.
  • Design patterns.
  • AWS.
  • Docker.
  • Kubernetes.
  • Terraform.
  • Postgres SQL.
  • CD/CI.
  • GitHub.
  • Jenkins.
  • Kafka.
  • Agile methodology.
  • Test frameworks.

Candidates with the following will be prioritized:

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture patterns.
  • Familiarity with synchronous/asynchronous processing and error handling patterns with spring boot.
  • Experience building web services and integrations with message driven architecture.
