Internal Control Specialist Job Description

Conduct independent reviews of internal controls to ensure timely reporting and effective implementation. Ensure adherence to US GAAP, Indian Accounting Standards, and company policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting independent on-site internal control reviews
  • Ensuring appropriate and timely implementation of control processes and corrective actions
  • Identifying opportunities for process simplification, standardization, and automation
  • Assessing all areas of risk and implementing complete and effective risk management strategies
  • Facilitating the completion of mandatory statutory, corporate, and Asia reporting requirements
  • Sharing best practices across regions
  • Supporting location management teams during operational and financial audits
  • Obtaining, analyzing, and evaluating accounting documents for compliance with US GAAP, Indian Accounting Standards, and company policy

Required qualifications include:

  • Chartered Accountant with more than 8 years of experience in internal audit, accounting audit, or internal control roles, including at least 4 years in a Big 4 environment
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments with cross-functional departments
  • Ability to perform process audits and month-end close reviews independently
  • Outstanding knowledge of US GAAP and Indian Accounting Standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High adaptability and ability to work well with ambiguity
  • Strong work ethic and track record of taking on additional responsibility
  • Organizational skills, detail-oriented, and strong time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with QAD and Hyperion highly preferred
