About the Role

G2 is seeking a highly skilled Market Research Associate to support the growth and maintenance of our priority categories. As a key member of our Market Research team, you will play a critical role in developing and curating our real-time taxonomy and related research that powers our G2 marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Support & Development: You will work closely with our analyst team to maintain category integrity across various software markets, focusing on Sales, Marketing, HR, and Customer Service software categories. This will involve researching and categorizing new and evolving software products, crafting educational content for our category pages, and learning about trends to inform our taxonomy development.
  • Advisory Influence: You will gain exposure across multiple software markets, learning about the process of educating buyers on how to select, implement, and benefit from business solutions. You will also assist with engaging buyers and reviewers on our platform as needed.
  • Thought Leadership & Analysis: You will provide support to senior analysts in developing in-depth articles, SEO-driven web copy, and blog posts that help buyers find the right solutions. You will also grow your understanding of our unique data and information through intentional research and direct engagement with software and service buyers.
  • Collaboration: You will work closely with analysts across various markets and project types, collaborating with the rest of the G2 team to develop and deliver new reports, insights, and offerings.

Requirements:

  • Strong research and analysis skills, with a passion for developing written research capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience in B2B software markets
  • Fast learner who can work independently and adapt to new challenges
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • 1-2 years of professional experience, with experience in specific software categories as a practitioner, researcher, or analyst a plus
