Software Packaging Specialist

As a software packaging specialist, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing cutting-edge packaging solutions for desktop and server platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in software packaging, application development, and deployment within physical and virtual environments. They should be skilled in integrating application packaging and delivery solutions with user self-service portals, automation tools, and enterprise software deployment tools.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing test plans prior to software deployment, maintaining documentation of customizations and changes made during the packaging process, and providing engineering, deployment, and transition support for a broad range of current and future Microsoft applications and technologies.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, including hands-on expertise in .NET, .BAT, .VBS, WSE, .MSI, .MST, .MSP, SQL Server, APPV, MSIX, Numecent, and similar scripting and database tools.

Additionally, they should have experience with automation scripts, orchestration, and automation processes and products, as well as deep understanding of implementing and supporting application virtualization, streaming, layering, and paging technologies on AVD environments.

This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, Windows troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate escalations when needed.

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required, and preferred qualifications include experience with PowerShell, Ansible, DSC, Python, or YAML, familiarity with tools or automate scripts/processes, and experience with project coordination and managing change.
