Software Deployment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Deployment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our ICT Services team, you will play a critical role in the preparation, testing, and release of software within customer environments.

  • About the Role:
  • The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 11, and AD Group Policies.
  • They will be experienced in preparing applications for deployment using available setup commands/scripting as well as repackaging and customizing setup applications using tooling such as InstallShield, RayPack, etc.
  • Strong technical skills, excellent troubleshooting and logical reasoning skills, and proficiency in English are essential.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based operations environments using ITSM toolsets such as ServiceNow is desirable.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Service Desk, other resolver groups, and vendors to resolve tickets efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the right packaging and delivery approach is used, depending on the application.
  • Execute the steps of the application packaging process within agreed SLA limits.
  • Resolve incidents and requests related to packages in accordance with the SLA.
  • Liaise with change management, customers, application owners, and vendors where needed.
  • Manage and support customer environments built with Windows client operating systems, Active Directory Group Policy, Microsoft Defender, SoftwareCentral, and the Microsoft Intune product family.
  • Respond to and resolve assigned incidents in addition to implementing requests and changes, ensuring appropriate actions are taken so that none of them exceed their SLA or cause unforeseen business impact.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in preparing applications for deployment on Windows Operating Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the MSI and MSIX packaging frameworks.
  • Operational knowledge of the Microsoft Intune product family, including Microsoft Configuration Manager, with a focus on application creation/integration and deployment.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell Scripting and basic level VB scripting in support of automating application installations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based operations environments using ITSM toolsets such as ServiceNow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in preparing applications for a Citrix environment.
  • Microsoft Certifications, such as MD-100: Windows 10, MD-101: Managing modern desktops, or MD-102: Endpoint Administrator.
  • Experience supporting multiple customer environments simultaneously.
  • Experience working in an international environment.
