The role of Project Consultant is at the heart of our technical pensions project work within Data Services. This position involves a wide variety of tasks, including rectifying data that is incorrect or requires amendment due to legislation or court cases.

1. Pension rectification project work – often complex and/or technical
2. Identify gaps in processes and suggest solutions
3. Be able to innovate to improve unit times or accuracy either by new solutions or building on existing solutions
4. Perform project management roles including designing and maintaining project plans and risk logs and interacting with external clients
5. Performance management
6. Completing quotes, claims, and servicing and discontinuance work
7. Demonstrate commercial awareness including ability to record chargeable time professionally and prudently on individual contracts
8. Prioritising and organising own workload to ensure that deadlines are met and standards of delivery maintained including indicating when new work or assistance is required
9. Provide ongoing training and coaching to colleagues
10. Provide support to Project Leads/Project team/Managers

Requirements

1. Broad based Defined Benefit pension experience and knowledge
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
3. Able to multi-task – able to work under pressure and under own initiative
4. Self-motivated and ability to encourage others
5. Well-developed systems proficiency, particularly in Excel and Word including mail merge, basic Access proficiency would be an advantage
6. Ability to handle and analyse complex and high volumes of data
7. Must be flexible and proactive
8. Able to work to laid-down processes and procedures
