Director Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing

A seasoned leader is sought after to spearhead data initiatives with strategic vision and hands-on expertise. This role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality BI, DWH, and data science-enabled solutions that drive business intelligence to new heights.

Main Responsibilities
  • This role requires end-to-end delivery of Business Intelligence, DWH, and Data Analytics projects – from requirements gathering through development and deployment.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure timely, budget-friendly, and exceptional quality delivery.
  • As the primary escalation point for project risks, challenges, and stakeholder concerns, effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
Key Governance & Quality Pillars
  • The Director will define and implement best practices, standards, and quality frameworks across BI, DWH, and Data Science initiatives.
  • They will guarantee scalable, secure, governance-compliant solutions aligned with organizational policies.
  • This role demands a continuous process improvement, governance maturity, and innovation in delivery methodologies.
Leadership & Mentoring
  • The successful candidate will lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams including data engineers, BI developers, data science professionals, and project managers.
  • Providing technical guidance across BI, DWH, and Data Science domains is crucial.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and delivery excellence is key to success.
Business & Stakeholder Management
  • This role involves partnering with business leaders to understand needs and translate them into actionable BI, DWH, and DS solutions.
  • The Director will drive stakeholder alignment and ensure projects deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Presenting insights, project outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and business-oriented narrative is essential.
Technology & Innovation
  • The Director will guide the adoption of modern BI platforms, cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery), and data science models.
  • Evaluating emerging technologies and DS methodologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and analytical capabilities is critical.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
  • At least 20 years of overall experience, with 15+ years in leading Data Warehousing, BI, and Analytics delivery is preferred.
  • Proven end-to-end delivery of large-scale BI, DWH, Data Analytics, and preferably DS projects is essential.
  • Deep understanding of project governance, quality frameworks, and compliance protocols is crucial.
  • Strong data modeling, ETL/ELT, BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), and familiarity with cloud ecosystems; fluency in DS tools, modeling, and predictive analytics is necessary.
  • Expert team leadership, mentoring, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills are essential.
  • Innovation-oriented individuals who adopt modern BI, Cloud DWH, and DS technologies and cultivate self-service analytics across teams are highly valued.
