Climate Change Research Position

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to evidence-based climate policies. As a researcher, you will work on cutting-edge projects focused on Climate Change & Energy Transition, Economy & Trade, and Geopolitics & Strategic Studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and data analysis on focus areas.
  • Lead and contribute to high-quality analytical research reports, policy papers, discussion papers, and articles.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to support research initiatives.
  • Oversee projects and discussions, including planning, budget management, and coordination responsibilities.
  • Establish a network of industry participants, collaborate with partners, and other influential stakeholders to enhance the organization's events and communication efforts.
  • Search for and review published literature on a research topic.
  • Supervise undergraduate project interns or other personnel on research-related tasks.
  • Assist with manuscript or grant development.
  • Prepare reports or presentations.
  • Organize events, seminars, and workshops.
  • Moderate academic discussions and policy dialogues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A master's degree in a relevant field, including engineering or energy economics.
  • A PhD in the given domain is an added advantage.
  • Thirteen years of work experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Desirable: Econometric Models, Energy and/or Economic Models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, NVivo).
  • Ability to work/lead as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship skills and team ethics.
  • Excellent written and verbal (interpersonal and public speaking) communication skills.
  • Authored at least two scholarly research publications and/or multiple op-eds during the last five years.
  • Ability to adapt to new environment and deliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team while being able to independently drive research with minimum assistance when time demands.
  • Willingness to travel for research and stakeholder engagement.
