Backend Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to design and implement scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in designing and scaling RESTful APIs, with a strong understanding of authentication/authorization, security best practices, and API governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Maintain and improve existing Strapi CMS-based applications, ensuring high performance and security standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain robust authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with at least 2+ years focused on Strapi CMS in production environments.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Proven experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs.
  • Deep understanding of authentication/authorization, security best practices, and API governance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a track record of mentoring and guiding teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with other headless CMS platforms (Contentful, Sanity, Prismic) for comparison/architecture decisions.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React) for end-to-end project collaboration.
