About Our Bookkeeping Role

Our company is seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to support our finance and operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

This role requires strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping, accounting standards, and taxation rules, along with excellent English communication skills. You will work closely with our leadership team to ensure our financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bookkeeping Management: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with Australian accounting standards.
  • Taxation Support: Assist with BAS, GST, and other tax-related filings.
  • Payroll Processing: Process payroll and superannuation contributions (if required).
  • Closing Activities: Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Financial Reporting: Work with accountants to prepare financial reports and ensure compliance.
  • Invoicing and Expense Tracking: Manage invoicing, receipts, and expense tracking.
  • Internal and External Communication: Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients regarding financial matters.
Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (Australian clients or companies preferred).
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of BAS, GST, superannuation, and other Australian compliance requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent English (written and verbal). Clear, professional, and confident communicator.
  • Work Style: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Mindset: Sharp, analytical, and proactive problem-solver.
Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications and skills would be advantageous in this role:

  • Australian Business Experience: Previous experience working with Australian businesses.
  • Bookkeeping or Accounting Certification: Certification in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Excel and Reporting Skills: Strong Excel and reporting skills.
