Electrical and Instrumentation Manager Job Description

Job Title : Electrical and Instrumentation Manager

Work Location : Jhagadia, Gujarat

  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with regional teams to implement best practices in maintenance, including Risk-Based Maintenance (RBM) and other initiatives.
  • Lead digitalization efforts, focusing on OT security and other key areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage departmental activities for instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Handle nucleonic gauge-related tasks, ensuring timely compliance and maintaining radiological safety standards.
  • Oversee instrument calibration and field instrument management, as well as emergency repair jobs.
  • Provide training and guidance to subordinates, promoting safe operation of equipment and efficient maintenance processes.
  • Install, commission, and validate new equipment, ensuring proper mechanical support and alignment.
  • Perform sizing and selection of instruments, leveraging expertise in flow meters, pressure transmitters, thermocouples, and other critical components.
  • Develop and manage contracts for external vendors and services.
  • Plan and schedule shutdown maintenance jobs, minimizing downtime and optimizing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive maintenance cost reduction, analyze breakdowns, prepare CAPA, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving EHS and GMP requirements, ensuring the organization meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with authorities and comply with legal requirements.
  • Drive project conceptualization through execution and commissioning, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, such as equipment history cards, maintenance checklists, reports, and standard practice instructions.

Education & Experience Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Electronics & Communication engineering, combined with 10-12 years of experience in plant maintenance.
  • Training in radiation safety aspects of nucleonic gauges is highly beneficial.
  • Active registration on ELORA AERB Website is a significant advantage.

Desirable Skills & Abilities :

  • Proficiency in English, Gujarati, and Hindi language.
  • Experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • PLC programming skills are highly valued.
