Patent Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Patent Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent drafting and prosecution, with a focus on information and communication technologies.

  • Develop patent applications for inventions in information and communication technologies.
  • Manage prosecution projects, including formulating response strategies to office actions and drafting complete responses.
  • Create provisional specifications and patent applications with well-crafted claim sets that meet US and European patent standards.
  • Provide technical training to team members.
  • Mentor interns and team members on technology areas and guide them on drafting and prosecution work.
  • Apply process knowledge to produce consistent results.
  • Work independently on projects, creating processes for client deliverables, talent development, and customization.
  • Analyze problems, identify issues, and provide recommendations to improve team performance and productivity.
  • Use tools to analyze and solve problems.
  • Participate in the hiring process by preparing test papers, evaluating candidates, and conducting interviews.
  • Lead team members in technical assignments and projects requiring high proficiency and competency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or technology from a reputable institution.
  • Excellent domain knowledge in ICT field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in patent drafting and/or prosecution, with 2+ years in patent drafting for the US jurisdiction.

Experience in drafting over 50 patent applications for the US domain is essential.
