Senior Data Engineering and Analytics Manager Job Summary

This leadership role involves overseeing the delivery of data and analytics services to clients, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in managing teams and improving operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the operating model, including ticket workflows, escalation paths, and monitoring practices.
  • Coordinate the triage and resolution of incidents and service requests raised by client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage operational roadmaps, recurring issues, and enhancement backlogs.
  • Lead a team of data engineers and consultants, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience in designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, or dbt.
  • A strong understanding of data engineering and analytics concepts, including ELT/ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and reporting layers.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages, particularly Python.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, and DevOps practices.

Skills:

  • ETL or ELT: Proficiency in two or more of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and dbt.
  • Data Warehousing: Experience with one or more of Azure SQL Server, Redshift, Big Query, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Cloud: Proficiency in Azure, with knowledge of AWS or GCP.
  • SQL and Scripting: Ability to read and debug SQL and Python scripts.
  • Monitoring: Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Datadog, or equivalent tools.
  • Ticketing & Workflow Tools: Experience with Freshdesk, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar tools.
  • DevOps: Knowledge of containerization technologies, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
