Senior CAD Designer Job Posting

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CAD Designer to join our engineering team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate 2D/3D CAD models and drawings for sheet metal components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Modeling: Interpret project briefs and customer drawings to develop manufacturable designs. Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks for base frames, acoustic canopies, electrical cabinets, and portable light towers.
  • Sheet Metal Expertise: Apply strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques including material types and gauges, bend allowances and K-factors, weld joint planning and laser-friendly nesting.
  • Dimensions, Tolerances, and Welding Symbols: Define detailed dimensions, GD&T, and fit tolerances. Use industry-standard welding symbols for MIG, TIG, fillet, groove, and corner welds.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, and project management teams. Address feedback from fabrication and QA for continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as a CAD Designer in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks is mandatory (Part, Assembly, Drawing, Sheet Metal modules).
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and welding techniques, weld joints, symbols, and sequencing.
