Financial Operations Role

This position is a key member of our Credit Card Operations team. The role involves performing outbound calls and offline work, adjudicating credit, conducting thorough investigations on credit bureaus, and deciding on the customers' creditworthiness.


Main Responsibilities:
  1. Fraud and Risk Review: New applications for fraud and credit risk will be reviewed, making outbound calls for fraud and employment verification. Conversations with applicants in real-time will be analyzed to assess potential fraud risk.
  2. Credit Management: Credit terms and limits will be administered and controlled. Credit limit reviews, reinstatements, and account maintenance will be performed. Credit worthiness of prospective customers will be assessed, approving, recommending, and negotiating credit terms and limits appropriate to the customers' requirements and ability.
  3. Customer Interaction: Direct communication with applicants will occur, adhering to brand standards. Liaising effectively with other areas impacting the Credit Department will happen. Exceptional customer service will be provided while maintaining high efficiency and accuracy in data analysis and report tracking.
  4. Compliance and Reporting: Established standards and targets will be maintained/exceeded, adhering to all credit policies, procedures, and guidelines to mitigate risk. High levels of accuracy in report maintenance and tracking will be ensured.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  1. Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Experience: Previous experience reviewing and approving credit is an asset. Minimum of 2-3 years of customer service experience is required; credit card experience is necessary, credit and fraud experience is an asset.
  3. Skills and Competencies: Strong communication skills with an excellent command of English are required, along with a professional telephone manner. Demonstrated analytical and judgment skills are required in dealing with moderately complex procedures and situations.
