We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Editor to join our dynamic editorial team. This role will involve editing and publishing high-quality articles on a daily basis, ensuring that they meet the company's standards for accuracy, clarity, and engaging content.

To be successful in this position, you will need to possess excellent writing and editing skills, as well as a strong understanding of sports and current events. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Editing and publishing 18-20 articles per day, ensuring that they are fact-checked, well-researched, and relevant to our audience.
  • Working closely with a team of writers, editors, and content managers to refine and elevate the quality of our published content.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior writers, helping them to develop their skills and grow as contributors to the team.
  • Staying up-to-date with breaking news and current events, and using this knowledge to inform and enhance our published content.
  • Collaborating with the content quality team to continuously improve the quality and relevance of our published articles.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in English, Media/ Journalism, or similar discipline.

* 6-12 months of experience in sports content editing, proofreading, or similar role.

* Strong command of the English language and understanding of American culture.

* Ability to analyze article performance metrics and use insights to elevate the quality of content.

* Basic understanding of SEO principles, including crafting engaging headings and subheadings.

* Leadership skills to inspire, guide, and mentor a team of talented writers.

* Passion for sports, with eagerness to cover breaking news, live events, and in-depth analyses.
