Ruby on Rails Developer Position

This is an opportunity to work as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to the development of a strategic product solution.

The role requires expertise in low-level design, implementation, and delivery of solutions using Ruby on Rails, React, and JavaScript.

We are seeking an experienced developer who can collaborate with the Technical Architect, Product Design Team, Quality Assurance, and other stakeholders to build amazing features for our client's program management solution.

The successful candidate will have experience with:

  • Conducting low-level design, implementation, and unit testing of new features within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensuring code adheres to performance requirements of a SaaS product.
  • Building front-end software using React/Javascript according to visual designs provided by the UX team.
  • Maintaining existing client application including fast resolution of customer-raised issues within the software.
  • Writing unit tests to ensure that Ruby on Rails code within our infrastructure is of high quality.
  • Collaborating effectively with the product design team, QA, and other stakeholders within the business to understand user needs and ensure best customer solutions.
  • Estimating, self-planning, and self-managing tasks as a developer within an Agile team.
  • Documenting technical processes and software changes when necessary.
  • Protecting confidential data and ensuring information security protocols are followed.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline and have 3-9 years of professional software development experience. Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript with React capability desirable, SQL, and database use is required. Familiarity with CI/CD technologies (Gitlab an advantage) and knowledge of SaaS application architecture and design with Azure knowledge desirable. Knowledge of software engineering and best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source code control, build processes, testing, and operations is essential.
