Job Title: Process Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Process Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering and be able to oversee the development of process deliverables.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring timely completion of designs and process engineering deliverables.
  • Adhering to departmental/ discipline working instructions and quality systems.
  • Monitoring work progress and work-hour usage.

Requirements include a degree in Chemical Engineering Discipline with minimum 18 to 20 years of experience in a consultancy organization or technical services department of a Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Lifesciences company.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Performing process calculations like heat & mass balance, utility sizing for API, OSD, and Biotech Projects.
  2. Pharma Process Equipment data sheet preparation.
  3. Line sizing, relief load & PSV calculation.
  4. Exposure to simulation software's such as HYSYS, ASPEN.
  5. Preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs).
  6. Reviewing all aspects of design and construction for consistency and safety, including leading Hazop and PHA Reviews.
  7. Process engineering calculations such as Thermal rating of heat exchangers, and hydraulics.
  8. Candidates should be able to carry out Capacity Mapping of Biotech Projects using Schedule Pro and Super Pro.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of layout designing of API, OSD, Sterile, and Biotech projects, area classification, and man-material flow concepts. They should also possess sound knowledge of regulatory requirements and equipment selection criteria.

Additionally, they should have knowledge of disposable technology, fermentation, bioreactors, TFF, chromatography, filling lines, and other relevant technologies.

  • Investigating, analyzing, and implementing systems and methods to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitoring compliance with project requirements and schedule.
  • Maintaining contact with other disciplines/groups to ensure proper interchange of information and documents.
  • Ensuring site problems are dealt with effectively and expeditiously.
  • Attending Design Engineering Management Review Meetings.
  • Furnishing administrative and technical directives to discipline personnel.
Requirements:
  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions; identifies applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems.
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Leads functional teams or projects and serves as a best practice/quality resource.
