We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of our data warehouse and mentoring senior engineers.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with 4+ years leading teams, and strong coding expertise: Python, JVM, and Shell scripting with production-grade experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 Sr. Engineers
  • Drive client communication, requirement gathering, and roadmap planning
  • Identify risks and provide mitigation strategies
  • Conduct PR reviews & guide best practices
  • Strong documentation & communication skills
  • Proactive, business-value-oriented mindset

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with 4+ years leading teams
  • Strong coding expertise: Python, JVM, and Shell scripting with production-grade experience
  • 5+ years in cloud-native, data-intensive applications with mandatory AWS expertise
  • Proven experience in Data Warehouse design & development using modern DW tools
  • Hands-on with Databricks and dbt (mandatory)
  • Expert in Airflow (workflow orchestration)
  • Strong experience building & maintaining Spark applications
  • Deep understanding of file formats: Parquet, Delta Lake, OTFs
  • Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD)
  • Solid knowledge of unit testing & test automation frameworks
