Data Scientist Role Overview

The role involves leveraging data, analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies to extract insights, build predictive models, and develop AI-powered solutions.

This includes exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, model deployment, and integration as well as model monitoring and maintenance.

Deliver business solutions using multiple AI techniques and tools.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Understand business requirements and transform them into technical plans, data processing, feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and solution deployment – following CRISP-DM methodologies.
  2. Apply optimization methodologies including linear/integer/nonlinear programming and heuristics to find the best solution to business problems.
  3. Experience with business requirements gathering, transforming them into technical plans, data processing, feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and transforming findings into tasks,
  4. Take a proactive approach to areas where improvement is needed, such as suggesting improvements to existing pipelines (tests, support, and improvements).
  5. Develop and follow standards to improve competency quality.
  6. Familiarity with projects in the supply chain area or optimization projects is beneficial.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including 2+ years of DS/Operations Research experience.
  • Experience in optimization methodologies, including the use of various optimization libraries (e.g. CPLEX, Gurobi, ortools, etc.).
  • Strong Python coding skills, including object-oriented programming concepts, ML libraries, and basic working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience working in cloud technologies (preferably MS Azure, GCP nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with the theory behind various machine learning concepts.
  • Experience with CRISP-DM project delivery and Agile projects (such as Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with business requirements gathering, transforming them into technical plans, data processing, feature engineering, models evaluation, hypothesis testing, and model deployment.
  • Experience in client-facing roles.
  • Able to apply independent research, gather information, and provide recommendations on solving diverse scope problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
