Job Title: Virtual Desktop Engineer

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires collaboration with Systems Engineering teams to achieve project goals.

The position involves providing Daily End User Operations Support, working closely with Security and Compliance teams to validate new application requests and maintenance tasks before transitioning to production.

  • Create essential technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and end user-facing runbooks for all assigned projects and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide support for multiple Windows platforms in both Physical and Virtual Environments.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of our global standard desktop and laptop models.
  • Maintain desktop images and modify SCCM task sequences as needed.
  • Create and maintain existing support documents to Maintain high quality standards in the delivery of End User Computing services.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and direction to carry out plans and procedures, ensuring schedule attainment, product development, process adherence, and performance.
  • Provide last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysis.
  • Drive to deliver technology and products in the roadmap on schedule with the highest quality.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to develop solutions.
  • Manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment including creating images, deploy VMs, monitor VM performance.
  • Develop automated solutions for deploying software packages, application patches/updates and workstation images.
  • Engineer and support multiple Windows desktop images.
  • Monitor and address alerts from desktops using CyberArk.
  • Manage and support PXE environment 1E products.
  • Provide level 3 support for escalated end user issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Azure Virtual Desktops and a strong background in System Engineering.

They should possess experience with Day-to-day System Engineer Operations and escalations support, as well as developing and testing software packages using Install shield or equivalent.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, FsLogix, GPO, Active Directory, and PowerShell is also required.
