Job Opportunity: Data Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Oversight: Manage and maintain large-scale data sets, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • User Management: Supervise user access and privileges, guaranteeing secure data handling.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on imported data, collaborating with experts as needed.
  • Data Lifecycle Management: Plan and execute the deployment and decommissioning of data assets.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion and adhere to established guidelines.
  • Reporting: Contribute to the development of informative reports and analyses.
  • Environment Design: Oversee the configuration and optimization of reporting environments, including data sources, security measures, and metadata management.
  • Warehouse Support: Assist in identifying and addressing reporting requirements for the data warehouse.
  • Integrity: Foster a culture of data integrity and normalization within the organization.
  • Software Evaluation: Assess and implement new or upgraded software solutions, providing strategic guidance on technology adoption.
  • Report Generation: Produce comprehensive reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues within the reporting database environment and resolve report-related problems.
  • Evaluation and Training: Evaluate changes to source production systems and provide training to end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing techniques.
Requirements:
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst, or relevant work history.
  • Risk Assessment: Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Tool Analysis: Capacity to analyze existing tools and databases, providing recommendations for software solutions.
  • Business Translation: Skill in translating business requirements into clear, non-technical language.
  • Methodology Knowledge: In-depth understanding of methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
  • Data Handling: Demonstrated proficiency in handling large data sets and relational databases.
  • Addressing Standards: Familiarity with addressing and metadata standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
