Key Role in Contract Management

The position of Contracts Negotiator plays a pivotal part in supporting the legal department. The successful candidate will be responsible for streamlining the legal review of commercial agreements, ensuring efficient handling of critical documents and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for various commercial contracts, including order forms, professional service agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, data privacy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and others.
  • Resolve contract-related problems that may arise with other parties or internally.
  • Develop creative solutions and draft alternative terms, working closely with attorneys.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams to promote conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Legal administrative processes and legal documents.
  • Partner with other internal teams to drive process and operational improvements.

Requirements:

  • University level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification.
  • Familiarity with media organizations desirable.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and a good level of understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Ability to manage complex issues, apply legal, financial and business principles to contracting.
  • Adept in use of digital tools, document systems, and MS Office.
  • Comfortable working as part of a cross-functional team in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
