AI Engineer Role Overview

Codewalla is a product studio with engineering teams that have built innovative products since 2005. We are now looking for an experienced AI Applications Developer to join our team.

The mission is to translate raw model capability into lean, reliable, and user-ready features. This involves working on Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and agentic clients that handle user intent parsing, tool orchestration, and structured response generation.

We're also looking for someone who can architect efficient Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines with chunk decay, latency budgeting, and cost-aware vector search. Additionally, the successful candidate will automate evaluation pipelines that test Large Language Model (LLM) outputs for relevance, accuracy, and coherence.

As part of our DevOps team, you will work closely with engineers to codify and deploy infrastructure using CDK or Terraform. You will also set up observability dashboards for prompt performance, latency, and failure traceability.

This role requires strong Python and TypeScript skills, as well as experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP. Familiarity with LangChain, Bedrock SDK, and vector database schema design is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of prompt design, embeddings, and agentic workflows.

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of full-stack or backend development experience, with at least 1 year building AI-powered or LLM-based applications.
  • AI-native mindset: test fast, trace deeply, pause to reframe when needed.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
  • Familiarity with LangChain, Bedrock SDK, and vector database schema design.
  • Understanding of prompt design, embeddings, and agentic workflows.
  • CI/CD fluency with GitHub Actions, containerized deployment, and test-first habits.
