Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.

This role requires a strong understanding of cloud technologies, including Azure, and experience in managing complex systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

The Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineer will work closely with the engineering teams to drive technology value and support business growth. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on our digital estate and shape its future development.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in IT engineering and cloud operations
  • Expertise in Azure and other cloud platforms, with a strong understanding of cloud governance and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Proven track record in providing support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure
  • Experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing automated solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of inventory management and software assurance, alongside CMDB and/or other asset management tooling
  • Relevant cloud and/or technology discipline certification especially AZ-104
  • Scripting skills in languages such as Python or PowerShell

Storage Expertise

  • Proficiency in storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of storage protocols (NFS, SMB, etc.)
  • Experience with storage management tools (EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM, etc.)
  • Guide and architect future storage technologies
  • Experience with backup and recovery of data
  • Experience with optimising, identifying storage solutions
  • Resolving 3rd line storage related incident support calls
  • Design/build/deploy storage solutions and shares
  • Understanding of data permissions, ACLs and general access management
  • Proactively monitoring/tuning storage services in various environments
  • Provide engineering support for storage infrastructure
  • Establish and recommend policies on system use and services
  • Understanding data classification and appropriate encryption/controls
