Design Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing and testing complex mechanical systems and equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with customers and marketing teams to determine design requirements, planning and executing design of precision mechanical equipment, developing and testing prototypes, and working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that design specifications are met.

The role requires strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, as well as detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles. The ability to find creative solutions to technical problems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with vendors and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Collaborating with Project Manager to determine project requirements.
  • Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
  • Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.
  • Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
  • Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
  • Liaising with designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Rhino etc.
  • Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attentive to detail and critically minded.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • String problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
