Compliance Manager Job

This role will oversee Legal Entity Governance activities, responsible for supporting American Express India Legal Entities.

  • The Compliance Manager will report to the Director of Compliance and serve in supporting LE Governance functions, business management, finance organizations, board, and regulators.
  • They will play an integral part in achieving Company goals to protect and assure compliance and integrity of LE Governance activities by eliminating controllable risk and exposure to the business.
  • The position will execute accurate and effective reports and controls, provide leadership support in effectively managing risks, and support critical business initiatives.

This role will also provide leadership support in restructuring/companies expansion plans, ensuring timely information flow to the Legal Entities Board of Directors, and controlling Risk with Local statutes and integrity of financial & Tax reporting.

  • Advising various functions on Compliance matters, Identifying and executing quality initiatives to continuously improve Compliance processes.
  • Statutory/Regulatory Compliance: Ensure appropriate control for Companies Act compliances for Board/General Meetings and monitoring change control over including regulatory reporting and compliance.

The Compliance Manager will lead experienced compliance analyst/s, providing compliance input on policy development and evolution to enable the legal entity to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

We are looking for a seasoned people leader with experience building and transforming teams. The ideal candidate should have 10-12 years of experience leading a compliance program or complex multi-market projects addressing compliance and control requirements.

  • Knowledge of legal entity governance and associated control and compliance framework, proven ability to set the agenda on complex evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong relationship and collaboration skills, outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and effective manner to senior leaders.
  • Bachelors degree and/or compliance/legal qualification is advantageous.
