**Job Title:** Technical Leader

PTW is a leading provider of game development services, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality games to clients around the world. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Leader to join our team.

**About the Role:

The Technical Leader will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of game development projects, ensuring the successful execution of technical strategies, and managing a team of skilled developers. This includes collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, artists, producers, and other stakeholders, to deliver high-quality games that meet project goals and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple game engineers from different projects for our clients or our in-house production.
  • Oversee day-to-day engineering tasks, including assigning tasks to team members, checking progress, guiding them when necessary, and conducting regular code reviews.
  • Drive and guide the team to produce high-quality code, which is easy to maintain, performant, scalable, and extensible.
  • Analyze the gaming application from both front-end and back-end perspectives, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Own the engineering aspect of game production for managed projects.
  • Make quick decisions under tight deadlines and work effectively in an agile environment.
  • Interact regularly with superiors to discuss team performance and provide feedback.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and seek feedback from team members.
  • Collaborate with other parts of the production team, Business Development, and provide guidance on technology solutions.
  • Pursue process improvements and establish best practices for development.
  • Work with designers, business development, and product managers to estimate and plan projects in an Agile environment.
  • Communicate technical information to prospective and existing clients.
  • Cultivate growth within the engineering team by mentoring junior engineers and assisting in interviewing potential candidates.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of 8+ years of experience in gaming software technology, with at least 2 years in a lead/manager role.
  3. Proven track record of shipping at least 5 gaming titles on multiple platforms, including PC, Console, and mobile.
  4. Hands-on knowledge of technology and architecture.
  5. Strong understanding of extensible product system architectures, platforms, and core technologies.
  6. Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills to pursue correct engineering processes in challenging situations.
  7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with changing requirements.
  8. Experience working efficiently in entrepreneurial and start-up environments.
  9. Familiarity with Unity, Unreal, or other game engines, C#, C++, Java, Python, and related technologies.
  10. Knowledge of cloud computing services (AWS, Azure, GCP), databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra), message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), distributed caches (Redis, Memcached), container technology (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  11. Ability to build end-to-end products with multiple engineering teams.
  12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
