Job Description

Mercor is building AI that builds teams by training large-scale models to predict on-the-job performance more accurately than traditional hiring methods. Our platform powers hiring at top AI labs and has scaled significantly, making us a leader in the industry.

The Data Scientist will be responsible for defining key metrics for ranking, interview analytics, and payout systems. This includes designing and running A/B tests and quasi-experiments, turning results into product decisions weekly. The ideal candidate will also build source-of-truth dashboards and lightweight data models for self-served answers, instrument events with engineers to improve data quality and latency, and prototype quick models to improve matching and scoring.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A solid foundation in statistics, SQL, and Python, with projects to demo.
  • Ability to iterate fast – frame questions, test, and ship in days – and communicate clearly with engineers, PMs, and leadership.
  • Curiosity about LLM evaluation, retrieval, and ranking is a bonus; you'll learn alongside experienced professionals.
