Job Title: Indirect Tax Specialist

Job Description

This role involves assisting clients in responding to tax authorities, preparing legal submissions, and representing clients in court. It requires a strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Assist clients in responding to tax authorities during enquiries, investigations, and audits.
  • Prepare and submit legal documents, including reply to show cause notices and audit replies.
  • Meet with tax officers for hearings and represent clients in various judicial forums.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on various topics related to indirect tax laws.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues.
  • Handle tax matters, including preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and representation before tax authorities.
  • Execute work on a multiple client base and assumes near independent responsibility for smaller clients.
Develops Commercial Acumen:
  • Stay abreast of firm-wide and competitor activities and general business trends.
  • Apply knowledge to deliver solutions to clients and develop rapport with middle layers of client management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in law or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in indirect tax litigation.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
